This is mostly an explanation post of why some of the development of 84expander has slowed, it is not due to us leaving or walking away, we are working on our discord bot, Raptor, and in doing so we are spread a bit thin. The updates for expander will definitely keep on coming but this is to explain the smaller bite sized updates recently.
- Resizing embedded videos no longer causes it to restart the embed.
- Channel pin is back to gold from system color.
- Added wmv file support.
- Fixed a bug where drag and drop uploads made double attachments.
- Various tiny backend fixes.
02-28-2026:
An update to 84 Expander has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart 84 Expander The major changes include:
- Creators who have multiple channels can now easily move posts from one channel to another
- Added drag and drop in the creator dashboard
- Added more moderation filters to live chat
- Optimized user fetching in the backend in the creator dashboard

02-25-2026:
We have introduced more modern login methodology, PASSKEYS. These allow you to login to 84 Expander passwordless, providing a alternative to username and password.
What’s new
- Introduced Passkeys
- Creators can now upload MKV videos (matroska and x-matroska)
To enable passkeys click your profile photo (or name) on the top right, click “Settings”, navtigate to “Security”.
Fixed
- Fixed a issue where if you upload a attachment thumbnail before a post thumbnail the site would crash

Beta feature when turned on turns pretty table of contents (the boxed ones), now can go in the bottom right when the button is clicked, allowing everyone to get where they need to go without having to scroll back every time. There are not many posts for this feature yet but some do exist. You can test it here, hence the table of contents

KIT OUT YOUR PROFILES! You can now click on someones profile picure in comments to view their profile photo or banner, and more information about them! Kit yourself out now!
To do so, click your profile photo at the top right and click “settings” then “profile”.
If you have a forums account connected, click “Go to forum preferences” then “profile”. “User profile card” will be pulled as your 84 expander bio. (make sure to click “save changes” at the bottom and to relog into the expander)
If you have a 84 Expander account without forums (or disconnected/never linked a forums) you can just upload right from there!

What happens to my existing accounts with forums?
They stay the same and you can keep using “Sign in with Team 84 Forums” account" as you have forever. However, if you want a seperate login, you can request a password reset

Welcome to the last major update of 2025 for 84 Expander. This is a huge new drop as the year wraps up and we take a month to ourselves. Here is the new shit, changes shit, and a important PSA:
What’s new
- Added filter options for creators to hide non-public posts when viewing theit channel (accessable via the “filters” button)
- Added “all videos” page to show all videos on 84 Expander
- Tmestamps in comments now jump to that part of the video
- Added a skip/forward 5 second button in the video player
- Added channel pinning for admins (thus, also pinning Team 84’s channel)
- Added the ability to change the order of playlists so they make more sense
- Added video position saving (aka. resume playback)
Changes
- Fixed when hovering over a tab in a channel page, it’d show the default themes colorpalet instead of your selected theme
- Fixed channel tags not being centered on creator browse page
- fixed opening a link directly to a podcast not actually expanding it
- Creators now can see private podcasts on their channel

Team 84 Org Updates
Now, into some of the updates related to Team 84 Official as a org.
We’re refreshing for the holidays
Now, as for Team 84 Official. We are now entering a hibernation of the company until the next year. Which means, no streams until next year. BUT DON’T PANIC. We are not leaving everyone empty handed.
Content plan during holidays
We’re working on a bunch of new videos that we will release instead of Team 84 livestreams, and be providing 84 expander maintenance as needed (ex., bug fixes, small features, keeping an eye on the community).
So be ready for more originals instead of streams.

Small update:
Video lengths now are a thing here, along with the fact that did some internal reshuffling of some code that you should not notice any changes with.
For VODs (such as YouTube Embed posts) these will not show, we hope maybe in the future we can add this but for now it’s only for videos uploaded directly onto our site.
